Awesome Soundwave Live Celebrates Standout Ibiza Show With Stimming, Sebastian Mullaert & Christopher Coe At Akasha

Signing off the summer season for 2026, Awesome Soundwave Live and Ethereal Ibiza brought Stimming, Sebastian Mullaert and Christopher Coe together at Akasha Ibiza on Friday 16th October for a unique all night long live performance. Marking the first time the three artists had performed together in this format, the collaboration combined modular synthesis, hardware and real time improvisation in an extended journey into sound that united musical experimentation with the energy of the dancefloor.

Each artist brought distinct musical approaches to the performance, responding to one another in real time to create a constantly evolving set. Rather than following a fixed structure, they listened, experimented and developed ideas together, allowing the music to move organically while maintaining a strong connection to the dancefloor.

For Awesome Soundwave co-founder Christopher Coe, the experience was both musically compelling and a reminder of what can happen when experienced performers come together with an open mind.

Christopher Coe Comments:

“It was such a joy and privilege to collaborate with these masters of the craft! Sebastian Mullaert and Stimming are both such unique and musical artists in their own right, and to join together with them to create 4 hours of improvised, atmospheric and amazing music was a true highlight for me. It exemplified all that ASW stands for in our quest to share the live experience in as many places as possible!”

The performance was built around a shared musical conversation, with the artists using subtle signals to introduce new phrases or bring a track arrangement into focus while the others responded. At times, that meant adding only a clap or a single synth line, leaving space for the music to breathe and develop rather than competing for attention. This collaborative approach allowed each artist to contribute to the evolving sound while keeping the focus on what best served the music in each moment.

The Akasha show forms part of Awesome Soundwave Live, the performance series from the label platform founded by Carl Cox and Christopher Coe to champion live electronic artists and create opportunities to experience electronic music beyond the conventional DJ format. The collaboration brought this vision to life, uniting three artists in an improvised performance that placed musical exchange, experimentation and the dancefloor at the centre of the night.

This year, the series brought its focus on live electronic performance to Dublin and Belfast before arriving in Ibiza, marking Awesome Soundwave’s return to the island following its shows at DC10 in 2022. The earlier dates also reflected the project’s commitment to working with local artists, including Irish techno artist Phil Kieran, who was encouraged to develop a unique live performance after more than a decade away from playing live.

Through collaborations with artists, venues and promoters, Awesome Soundwave continues to create platforms for distinctive live electronic experiences. With further events planned for 2027, Awesome Soundwave Live will continue to explore new ways of presenting electronic music as a live, collaborative and evolving art form.
