Change The Beat Partners With Sara Landry & HEKATE Records For Remix Competition Supporting Women & Gender Expansive Artists

Global non-profit Change the Beat is expanding opportunities for women and gender expansive artists in electronic music with a new remix competition alongside leading Techno artist Sara Landry and her label, HEKATE Records. The competition invites Change the Beat’s community to remix Sara Landry and Alex Farell’s ‘Angel Dust’, with the winning submission considered for an official release on HEKATE Records.

Alongside the release opportunity, the competition will offer prizes from Native Instruments, with first place receiving a Komplete 15 Collector’s Edition, second place receiving Komplete 15 Ultimate and third place receiving Komplete 15 Standard. Participants can also access Native Instruments’ Komplete Start, a free collection of instruments and effects.

Open to aspiring artists globally who identify as female or gender expansive, the competition offers emerging producers a direct opportunity to connect with established artists, labels and industry decision-makers. Submissions are open until Monday, October 5th, 2026 at 23:59 PST, with full contest details, rules and stems available via the LabelRadar contest portal.

Change the Beat’s latest remix competition builds on significant momentum for the organisation, following its recent pledge to support 300 women and gender expansive electronic music artists in securing label opportunities by 2028. Having already facilitated more than 100 label opportunities and signings through its evolving network of labels, artists and industry partners, the organisation continues to develop new routes for its community to access the wider electronic music industry.

Sydney Blu comments:

“We’re so excited at Change the Beat to be hosting the remix contest for Sara Landry and Alex Farell’s incredible record, ‘Angel Dust,’ and to have the opportunity to discover and spotlight three amazing emerging women producers through this project.

Sara has really inspired me with the way she’s used her platform to champion other women in electronic music. Watching her bring the Blood Oath artists on stage with her at Coachella and create that kind of visibility on one of the biggest stages in the world was incredibly inspiring. That spirit of opening doors and bringing other artists with you is so aligned with what we’re building at Change the Beat, which makes this collaboration feel especially meaningful.”

Alongside its Remix Contest Programme, Change the Beat is continuing its artist development initiatives, including The Demo Room, which gives participating labels the opportunity to showcase their sound and A&R priorities while providing artists with a direct route to submit music, receive feedback and connect with industry decision-makers. In parallel, Change the Beat’s Going Global programme further supports artists looking to build sustainable international careers.

The organisation’s relaunched Remix Contest Programme has created official remix and release opportunities for emerging artists through collaborations with leading electronic music labels and artists. Recent partners include SIPPY, DeadBeats, Westend, Trace Amounts and now Sara Landry’s HEKATE Records, alongside previous partners including Drumcode, mau5trap, Armada, Anjunadeep, Anjunabeats, HE.SHE.THEY, Insomniac Records, Nervous Records and Toolroom Records. Artists connected to the programme have also worked on projects involving artists including deadmau5, Nicole Moudaber, Eli & Fur, Crystal Waters, Ultra Naté, Maya Jane Coles, DJ Minx, VNSSA, Giorgia Angiuli and Azzecca.

For Change the Beat, the ‘Angel Dust’ competition represents a significant new step in their work, connecting its community with one of the most influential names in the current Techno movement and a label built around forward-thinking electronic music.

Change the Beat will also soon announce an international Change the Beat tour, bringing its artist development and industry access programmes to cities across the U.S, Canada and Europe. Each tour date will combine live programming with practical workshops and industry panels, creating opportunities for artists to develop their skills, gain insight from industry professionals and build connections within their local electronic music communities. Upcoming dates will include seminal venues such as fabric in London, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), and Marquee New York, further expanding Change the Beat’s presence across key international electronic music hubs.

Through workshops, masterclasses, mentorship, club events, industry partnerships and career development programmes, Change the Beat provides artists with practical support across music production, DJ performance, branding and music business. The organisation continues to expand its activities through events, showcases and educational programmes across the UK, US, Canada and Europe, creating further opportunities for women and gender expansive artists to develop their careers and connect with the global electronic music industry.

With its growing network of artists, labels, educators and industry partners, Change the Beat continues its mission to support women and gender expansive electronic music artists. From label collaborations and remix opportunities to education, live events and its upcoming international tour, the organisation is continuing to build a connected global platform designed to help the next generation of electronic music talent develop sustainable careers.
